What completed travel documents do I need to board the ship? Are there other important requirements to prepare for boarding day?

CHOOSE A PORT/COUNTRY OF DEPARTURE:

As policies continue to evolve with the latest public health guidance, required documents are subject to change at any time. Travel document requirements vary based on your country of citizenship and your port of departure. Be sure to check on your own country’s departure and re-entry requirements before traveling. Booked guests will be advised of the latest requirements for their port of departure before sailing.

 

 

For Cruises Departing from U.S. Home ports

You will need to have the following documents when you arrive to board the ship.

  • A Passport Book or Passport Card, valid for at least six months after your cruise, is strongly recommended. U.S. citizens that do not have a passport may present a state-certified U.S. Birth Certificate (not a "baby feet" hospital certificate or baptismal paper) or U.S. Naturalization Certificate. Guests age 16 and older that present a Birth Certificate will also need to provide a valid Driver's License or picture ID issued by the government. International guests will need a passport book, valid for at least six months after your cruise.   
  • COVID-19 Vaccination Record Card is recommended for fully vaccinated guests, as local authorities and businesses in some ports we visit may ask guests to present their vaccination card for entrance. 
  • COVID-19 Test Result: Testing requirements vary by itinerary based on the requirements of local ports. For specific details pertaining to your sailing, please visit our Testing Rquirements FAQ.
  • Health Status Questionnaire to be completed on our Royal Caribbean App before you board.

For guests on cruises traveling to Canada:

  • ArriveCan: All guests – including Canadians - or their legal guardians, must submit the mandatory travel information required by the Canadian government prior to boarding the cruise ship. Guests can complete the form on the ArriveCAN website or via the app available in the AppStore or on Google Play. Once complete you’ll need to print or show the QR code provided at boarding. For guests on cruises traveling to Bermuda:

  • Bermuda Travel Authorization is required for all travelers age 2 and older, or their legal guardians when checking in. For additional details, visit our FAQ on Cruises to Bermuda.

For Cruises Departing from ATHENS, Greece 

  • A Passport Book, valid for at least six months after your cruise, is required for U.S. citizens and international guests. EU Nationals may present a European ID Card.
  • COVID-19 Vaccination Record Card, Certificate or e-Certificate via your country’s health agency app is recommended for fully vaccinated guests, as local authorities and businesses in some ports may ask guests to present their vaccination card for entrance. 
  • COVID-19 Test Result: All guests age 2 and up must show a negative result for an antigen test taken no more than 2 days before sailing.
  • Health Status Questionnaire to be completed on our Royal Caribbean App before you board.

For Cruises Departing from Australia

You’ll need to have the following documents when you arrive to board the ship. Please note, there may be the requirement to present additional documentation to the list below due to Federal and State Government requirements.  Any additional documentation requirements will be communicated to you via email, a minimum of 30 days prior to your departure.

  • Valid Identification: For cruises departing Australia and visiting ports outside of Australia, a valid passport and appropriate visa will be required. You are responsible to ensure that you have all necessary visas and that your passport is up to date and will remain valid for at least 6 months from the date of the termination of your cruise. For cruises departing Australia calling into only Australian ports, Australian citizens require either a valid passport or government issued pictured and laminated ID card to be used as identification. For all other nationalities, a passport (plus visa if needed in Australia) is required. Children aged 17 years and under will require a passport or Birth Certificate to travel or government issued photo ID. Children under 16 years of age, who do not have a passport or Photo ID, must have a copy of their birth certificate or their parents Medicare Card. 
  • International COVID-19 Vaccination Certificate or Record Card with the final dose of your vaccine administered at least 14 days before sailing. This is a requirement for all guests age 12 and older.  Children aged 5 to 11 who have been fully vaccinated may present proof of vaccination. For domestic Australian voyages calling in only Australian ports, Australian citizens may provide their COVID-19 Digital Certificate (showing COVID-19 vaccination details recorded on the Australian Immunisation Register) as proof of vaccination.
  • COVID-19 Test Result: You may be required to present a COVID-19 test result.  See details in the Testing Requirement FAQ.
  • Health Questionnaire to be completed on our Royal Caribbean App the day before you board.

For Cruises Departing from BARCELONA OR TARRAGONA, Spain

  • A Passport Book, valid for at least six months after your cruise, is required for U.S. citizens and international guests. EU Nationals may present a European ID Card.
  • COVID-19 Vaccination Record Card, Certificate or e-Certificate via your country’s health agency app is recommended for fully vaccinated guests, as local authorities and businesses in some ports may ask guests to present their vaccination card for entrance.
  • COVID-19 Test Result: Vaccinated guests who are up to date must show a negative result for a PCR or antigen test taken no more than 2 days before boarding day. Vaccinated guests who are not up to date and unvaccinated kids age 2 to 11 will have a 1 day window to take this test.  Kids age 11 or younger who have been vaccinated may follow the testing protocols for vaccinated guests. 
  • Health Status Questionnaire to be completed on our Royal Caribbean App before you board. 

For Cruises Departing from Europe Home Ports, Excluding Athens, Greece and Spain

  • A Passport Book, valid for at least six months after your cruise, is required for U.S. citizens and international guests.
  • COVID-19 Vaccination Record Card, Certificate or e-Certificate via your country’s health agency app is recommended for fully vaccinated guests, as local authorities and businesses in some ports may ask guests to present their vaccination card for entrance.
  • COVID-19 Test Result: All guests age 2 and older – including those who have been vaccinated – will need to present their negative COVID-19 result. Vaccinated guests must take this test no more than 2 days before boarding day. Guests who are considered unvaccinated will have a 1 day window to take this test.
  • Health Status Questionnaire to be completed on our Royal Caribbean App before you board. For guests sailing on Wonder of the Seas, the Health Status Questionnaire will be filled out at the terminal prior to boarding.
  • FOR SAILINGS DEPARTING FROM HAIFA, ISRAEL:  
    • Entry Form must be completed here by all guests before entering Israel.

For Cruises Departing from Singapore

  • A Passport Book, valid for at least six months after your cruise, valid for at least six months after your cruise, is required for all guests.
  • COVID-19 Vaccination Record Card is recommended for fully vaccinated guests, as local authorities and businesses in some ports we visit may ask guests to present their vaccination card for entrance.
  • COVID-19 Test Result: All guests travelling with us, regardless of age, must provide a negative result from a professionally supervised antigen test provider taken no earlier than one day before boarding day. Test arrangements must be made on your own, at your own expense. This can be done either at your home country or in Singapore. Your pre-cruise COVID-19 test results must be in English for it to be accepted during check-in.
  • Health Status Questionnaire to be completed on our Royal Caribbean app before you board.

For Cruises Departing from Vancouver, British Colombia 

You’ll need to have the following documents to travel to Canada and board the ship. 

  • A Passport Book or Passport Card, valid for at least six months after your cruise, is required for U.S. citizens. International guests will need a passport book, valid for at least six months after your cruise.
  • COVID-19 Vaccination Record Card is recommended for fully vaccinated guests, as local authorities and businesses in some ports we visit may ask guests to present their vaccination card for entrance.
  • COVID-19 Test Result:All guests age 2 and older — including those who have been vaccinated — will need to present their negative COVID-19 result. Vaccinated guests must take this test (antigen or PCR test accepted) no more than 2 days before boarding day. Kids age 11 or younger who have been vaccinated may follow the testing protocols for vaccinated guests. Unvaccinated kids age 2 to 11 must take a PCR test (not antigen) no more than 3 days before boarding day.
